Las Vegas, Nev. -- Perhaps it was the only truly surprising moment of UFC 56: Full Force, when former welterweight champion BJ Penn emerged from behind the curtain. Company president Dana White’s other “big announcements,” were already out of the bag – Couture-Liddell three is old news, Tito Ortiz and Ken Shamrock as “Ultimate Fighter” coaches had been leaked on the Internet earlier in the day and the UFC’s Web site had been featuring an interview with Frank Mir all week – so Penn was the only true shocker. Still, it was a good one. |

MMA-America spoke with heavyweight fighter Josh Barnett this week, just before Barnett traveled to Japan for his upcoming Pride fight with Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic. In this interview Barnett pulls no punches when it comes to his feelings about his first fight with Cro-cop, his feelings about Pride and the UFC and what the fighter likes to do in his free time. |
